Privacy Policy

This policy explains what ChemCalculator processes when you use the website, calculators, API, and contact channels.

Last updated August 31, 2026

1. Scope

This policy applies to ChemCalculator's public website, browser-based calculation tools, and first-party API. It does not govern third-party websites that we link to.

2. Calculator data

Ordinary calculator operations run in your browser and do not require an account or an application database. We do not send raw calculator inputs or results in our analytics events.

Calculator fields can be represented in the page URL so a calculation can be restored or shared. Anything placed in a URL may appear in browser history, shared links, and standard hosting logs. Do not enter confidential or personal information into a calculator field or shared URL.

API requests are processed on our server to return a result. Avoid sending personal, confidential, or regulated data in API requests.

3. Content-free analytics

ChemCalculator sends a small, allowlisted event when certain product actions occur, such as opening a calculator, completing a calculation, changing a unit, copying a result, or printing.

The event contains only:

  • the calculator identifier and category;
  • the calculator and engine version; and
  • the action name.

The event schema does not accept formulas, equations, measurements, results, names, email addresses, or arbitrary custom fields. The current application validates these events and does not persist them in an application analytics database.

4. Technical and hosting data

Like most websites, our hosting and delivery providers may process standard request information needed to serve and protect the site. This can include an IP address, browser and device details, requested URL, timestamp, response status, and security signals. Their infrastructure and retention practices govern those operational logs.

5. Contact data

If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you include in the message or attachments. We use that information to respond, investigate a report, maintain the service, and keep an appropriate record of the conversation. Please do not email confidential or regulated information.

6. Cookies and browser storage

The current site does not use account or advertising cookies. Calculator state is kept in page URL parameters rather than a user profile. Your browser may retain URLs in its history and store files that you choose to download. Third-party sites reached through our links have their own storage and privacy practices.

7. Retention and security

Contact correspondence is retained only as long as it remains useful for support, security, recordkeeping, or legal obligations. Operational logs are retained according to our hosting providers' settings. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

8. Your choices and questions

You can use the core calculators without creating an account. You can remove calculator parameters before sharing a URL, clear browser history, avoid optional downloads, and choose not to email us.

To ask a privacy question or request access, correction, or deletion where applicable, email contact@chemcalculator.com. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page when the service or its data practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected here before or when they take effect.
